Seeing that everyone and their dog seems to have a blog these days, I thought “Why not me?” I don’t really care if anyone ever reads this, it just seems a good place to think out loud about all of the things I wish I had the time to do. This past summer I decided to learn how to quilt, having several of my Granny’s quilt blocks and pieces. I figured out how to put them together, but then got stuck on how to connect them into a whole quilt. Thank goodness for Sunflower Quilts in Derby. I took the parts and pieces to them and they have been wonderful! I also found a quilting group at the Haysville Library who let me work with them during the summer to learn more about hand quilting and now I’m on my way.
Actually, after taking a few stitches on the Granny quilt, i decided I needed a little more practice, so I made an “I Spy” quilt for my granddaughter, Mckenzie. A part of it is what you see in my header image.
I’m also getting back into my clay sculptures and just finished a Nativity scene. I’ll try to find a way to post pictures of it on this site. The stable is a little under 5″ and the people are 2″ and under. I think it turned out pretty cute. Myca and Bear took it to Kacie in Albuquerque. I’ve also signed up to make one for the church auction. I need to get busy and finish it.
